Kitchen help

We spotted this guy in an Islamorada beach bar. He/she seemed very comfortable and content to be there and didn’t mind being photographed.

  1. Wow, what a fabulous photo and a beautiful bird. Is this a type of heron? We have herons just outside our window. They are such wonderfully graceful creatures to watch. We also have ducklings right now. Today I saw a very protective mother duck spring into action as some seagulls and a jackdaw got a little too close for comfort. 🙂

    • Hi, thanks for the compliment 🙂 I’m not sure what type of bird it was–heron sounds right though. You’re so lucky to have lovely birds to watch outside your window. A couple of years ago we had a Canadian geese family living in our development. I loved watching the babies grow up. Birds are so beautiful.

      • That is pretty wonderful although Canadian geese kind of scary! I shall miss the wildlife up here when I return home. However, I have rather missed magpies from Glasgow – there are none here!
