Eastern State Penitentiary I visited Philadelphia for the first time last December. I loved the patriotic people, the history and beauty of the city. This is a shot of the inside of Eastern State Penitentiary, a prison that opened in 1829 and closed in 1971. It is now a historic site and is hauntingly beautiful to walk through. I hope you don’t mind, but I wrote a poem about this one too : http://karysdaysofgrey.wordpress.com/2012/03/19/eternal-regret/ I wanted to write the first time I saw it, but I didn’t want it to be too depressing so I had to wait, let it peculate for a while. I hope you like it. Reply
